Emily Coombes

STEAM School Educator

Emily has a Bachelor of Education in the Junior-Intermediate division from Nipissing University. She also has a diploma in Early Childhood Education with an Eco-Mentorship certificate from Fleming College, and a BA in English Literature from Trent University.

Melissa Jegeris

STEAM School Educator

Melissa (she/her) is a recent graduate from Trent University in the Bachelor of Education in the Primary/Junior stream. Her previous education is from Carleton University where she received her Bachelor of Arts(Hons) in Childhood and Youth Studies with a Minor in Indigenous Studies.

Caitie Blumsom

STEAM School Curriculum Lead

Caitie (she/her) is an outdoor educator and experiential learning advocate that is passionate about facilitating intentional land-based experiences with early learners. Caitie has a BAH in Indigenous Studies from Trent University (2021) with a focus on Indigenous Education. She also holds a Bachelor of Education in the primary-junior division from Nipissing University (2023).

Kaya Truax

Makerspace Lead

Kaya leads the operations and processes of our Lindsay Makerspace and STEAM School. Kaya’s multifaceted experience, encompassing education, administration, community engagement, and non-profit work equips her with a unique skill set that aligns perfectly with her current role as Makerspace Lead in Kawartha Lakes.
